Cycling Pattern 5"x7" Letterpress Print

Emily and Betsy Sokolosky are sisters, Charleston, West Virginia natives, and the two-person team behind Base Camp Printing Co. Emily, who studied graphic design in college, started the business in 2016, and Betsy, who studied advertising, joined her soon after. Ten years later, they're still the ones designing, printing, and running the day-to-day operation themselves.
Their work combines modern illustration and design with some very old-school printmaking. They hand-carve linoleum blocks, set vintage wood and metal type, mix their own inks, and print each piece individually on vintage presses, including a 1950s Vandercook and a Chandler & Price that's around 100 years old. I love seeing these traditional processes used to make work that's funny, irreverent, and very much of the present.

A good one for the person who owns significantly more bikes than seems necessary.--Gigi
