Julie Sinden is an award winning textile artist originally from the quiet shores of Lake Erie, now living and working in Toronto. Julie fell in love with natural dyeing in her first week of art school in 2002. Over the years, she became an expert and a teacher of the craft. In 2018 she launched The Love of Colour, a place to celebrate colour, plant dyes and making. She teaches dye classes at The Workroom in Toronto.
Julie's other love is travel, and she has journeyed to Japan, Guatemala, Morocco and Mexico to study dyeing and weaving.

The Natural Dye Kit offers a beginner-friendly introduction to the colorful world of natural dyeing. This is a great way to dip your toe in the craft without investing in large quantities of the materials up front.
Contains packets of pre-measured mordants (pre-treatments) and four different dyestuffs -- logwood, osage, madder, and cochineal. Enough to dye a yard of fabric, a ball of wool, or an adult t-shirt, in EACH of the four shades - pink, purple, orange and yellow. Can be used to dye either solid or tie dye. Complete with detailed instructions geared towards an absolute beginner and take the mystery out of where to to begin on a journey with natural dyes. Packaged in a sturdy, recyclable kraft paper box which has been silk screened by hand.
Ingredients: alum (a foodsafe ingredient made of potassium aluminum sulfate), gallnut (tannin powder made from the galls formed on oak trees), logwood chips (haematoxylon campechianum), osage orange sawdust (maclura pomifera), madder root (rubia tinctoria), cochineal (dactylopius coccus).
