Meet the Human
Therese Kuempel is a Lake Geneva-based jewelry artist who makes each piece by hand in her studio using traditional metalsmithing and wax casting techniques. We both came up through the same creative trenches as SAIC art school alums, and I really admire how she translates playful ideas into forms that feel elegant and refined.
Her work is rooted in craft and material understanding, and it shows in the way the surfaces catch light and hold texture.

Rainbow moonstones anchor these elongated, organic open shape brass earrings. I love how the subtle glow of the moonstone interacts with the shiny brass.
The earring posts are sterling silver - perfect for those with metal sensitivities.

*NuGold, also called Jeweler's Brass, is a solid metal alloy of copper and zinc. It looks very similar to 14k gold, with a more pale and warm tone than regular brass. NuGold will tarnish over time when exposed to oxygen, but a quick polish will shine it right back up! I use Sunshine polishing cloths.
