Andy Marsh is a potter and the founder of Soolla, a California company making thoughtfully designed bags for artists and makers. Before launching the business in 2023, he worked in brand marketing, but it was time spent in his local pottery studio that sparked the idea for the now-viral Studio Bag. Frustrated by having to choose between tool bags that were practical but unattractive or beautiful but awkward to use, he set out to design one that could be both.

I've carried enough mismatched tote bags full of art supplies to know the difference a well-designed bag can make. Whether I'm heading to a residency, teaching a workshop, or just bringing a project to the coffee shop, I appreciate having a place for everything.
I especially love that this was designed by another working artist. You can tell every pocket and detail came from actually making things, not just imagining what artists might need.
